I have a hen who has mucus in her beak. She has no sores or patches in her mouth, no obstructions, no mites on her body. She’s quite lethargic. She drinks water but seems like she’s struggling to swallow, attempts to eat but almost looks like she’s choking on it, she appears to be losing weight. Her crop seems completely empty, no squish, no lump. Belly feels fine. ACV has not made any difference, none of my other chickens seem affected.
Any ideas what could be wrong with her?

Welcome to BYC

Can you get photos of her and the inside of her beak?

Does she have any facial swelling, mucous from the nostrils, bubbles or pus in the eyes, coughing/sneezing?

What does her crop feel like?

Where are you located in the world?

What do you feed, including treats?

How old is she and when was the last deworming?

I can grab some pictures in the morning.
No swelling, nose and eyes look fine, no cough and sneezing.
Her crop just feels empty, not squishy, no lumps.
I’m in BC Canada.
I feed a layer feed, kitchen scraps, meal worms, hen scratch (from my local supply store), and they have a pecking block (also from supply store).
She’s about 8 months old, has not been dewormed

How is she doing now?

I’ve had her in a crate since I posted this, first day only had water, then I gave her some mashed feed and Greek yogurt, she has only eaten a tiny bit of food over the past few days. Drinking lots of water
Still has mucus in her mouth but has seemed a bit more awake
Her poop is liquidy, green and white

She's pooping?

Can you get photos of her and her poop?

Drinking a lot of water can point to a crop problem. I'd check the crop again to make sure it's emptying.

She may have Sour Crop since you are noticing mucous, hard to know. I'd consider treating her as such.

She still has sour breath and mucus, not eating much and crop still feels totally empty. I’ll grab some yeast treatment tomorrow! Thanks for the link
