My 7 1/2 week old chick ate my hair tie

Im new to this, but I’m hoping I can get some advice. My chickens LOVE my hair ties, always pecking at them and stuff. I was switching it from one arm to the other and suddenly, one of my chicks grabs it and runs off. I caught her, but she’d already swallowed it by then. I made sure she wasn’t choking. What do I do???

Well, there have been several threads over the years about chickens swallowing things. The main one that comes to mind is the hen that swallowed a foot of paracord...they were sure she'd die, but nothing ever happened as a result. A couple years later and she was still fine. I'll see if I can find the link.

Thanks! They have access to grit and everything (even though they prefer to sit in the container lol) so I’m hoping she’ll just pass it on her own.

There was also one last year that swallowed a foot of vetwrap. It seemed to survive just fine...
