why you may ask... because we started last week 7 babies in the brooder, then at the end of the week we ended up getting another 15 2 week olds so my little rubbermaid brooder was stuffed to the breaking point.... my wife is mad at me, but i commandeered the garden tub in the bathroom and turned it into a brooder... so that would explain the chicken poop right so on to the garlic. well out of those 15 that we got, 8 of them already have sour crops, yea i know at two weeks old but its true. just to make sure i took away all the food for last night and theyre still nasty/puffy. now i saw on here that garlic makes a great anti-fungal for sour crop, and since theyre so tiny i didnt want to go with any drugs or anything, so ive got them on plain organic yogurt mixed with theyre starter feed and some crushed up garlic, and they are devouring it, theyve also got probios and vitamins in theyre water, so hopefully the littlest little 3 day old maran we lost this morning from that group of 18 will be the only loss, at least, thats how it looks for now.
had to separate the 2 weekers from the 3 day olds and 1 week bantams so thats 2 araucanas 6 EE 1 BCM 1 BO and 3 silver sebrights in the tub AND 3 BCM 2 EE and 2 cochicn bantam in the brooder
