Hi, there,
I am Lexy, not a native speaker so this could be a little off (sorry for that), anyway, I have a hen (do we use pronouns for chickens? we do here in Brazil, so Imma do that anyway) and she's probably around 4 months old now... She was fine like a week ago or so but suddenly her leg (her joint, specifically) started getting weird, like crooked, bent to the side, completely wrong and it feels like it's getting worse every day (that's the reason why I - a NO experienced person - think she might have dislocated it)
She walks around limping and I can't really tell if she's in pain; I personally think she's not because she "runs" and all that, but then again I don't know, would she make "pain sounds" if she was in pain while walking around?
She's so lovely and I raise her as a pet in a house with a backyard and all, and I am really afraid she might die or something and the thing is, I can't really get her to a vet now (yeah, totally money related), so I have a few questions...
1) If she really did dislocate her leg and it never goes back to what it was, could she be "fine" having her leg like that for the rest of her life or do you guys think it would get so bad she'd die?
2) If a chicken loses her leg she'll eventually die, right?
3) Has anybody been to a situation like this and has any suggestions?
(I literally just noticed that her clucking sounds a little hoarse, that's info so I'm throwing it here)
I guess that's all. Thanks to anyone who replies.
