Always enjoyed the outdoors (hunting or fishing) but my true passion is Original Mountain Cur dogs. These dogs are used for hunting/trailing and treeing Squirrel or Raccoon. I enjoy my dogs as companion pets, but also enjoy showing them in competition. I have been fortunate to meet many good folks that have became lifelong friends through my hobby. As a total poultry newbie maybe I will meet a few new friends as time goes on through this new hobby!!

Do Mountain Cur have any Catahoula bloodline to it's history?

The body conformation of your beautiful dog is so similiar to my dog Redman who is a Catahoula (3/4) and Lab (1/4) mix.

Thanks for the replies folks!

NanaKat,

Original Mountain Curs do not have Catahoula in them as they are their own breed. The breed is sometimes referred to as the "Catahoula Hound" or "Catahoula Leopard Hound", as it is not a true hound, but a cur. It is also called the Catahoula Hog Dog, reflecting its traditional use in hunting wild boar.
