My Light Brahma lays a very pink egg

She laid a brown egg until she molted, now they are pink, very pink.

Very Pink----

You need to start a new breed and select for pink eggs....and then all the rage will be pink...and everyone will be crazy for pink eggs. That is an amazing shade of pink!!! How cool is that?

That would be cool but I would have to wait till each one molted to know who lays the pink egg. I did successfully breed an olive egger and her sister lays pink eggs. Not as brilliant pink as the L. Brahma but still pink. I bred my Easter Egger rooster to my RIR and got these two girls.

Wow, that is the prettiest pink egg I've ever seen. I've got to admit...I really am a sucker for colored eggs (including brown or white but with speckles). I logically know they don't taste any different than the white and tan...but they make me smile about three times more.

I love the colored eggs too. I built up my flock so I would have a variety of egg colors. I was so happy when the Olive egger started laying (a couple of weeks ago) and I got to see my first olive egg. I was afraid the L. Brahma's eggs were going to turn brown again after a while but it's been a couple of months and they are still pink. So cool!

I am pretty impressed by them too. One has a tiny pink comb and the other has a tiny black comb. The rooster was a silver duckwing and the mom was a red so I like that they are both black with red high lights around their neck and head. I really like the bearded breeds too.

My brahma is an excellent layer. I get an egg a day from her. It's two shades of brown. Dark on top and lighter with the rest of the egg. It's very unique.

That is an egg basket to be proud of. One of those eggs looks lavender.....wow!! gorgeous
