Some may know I have a stray goat that is living in my backyard, now that she has become used to me and is allowing me to pet and catch her, I decided she deserved a friend. She has become quite attached to my dog and often screams when he isn't outside with her. So here Is my new goat! (sorry about the photo quality) She is a Nubian goat and a baby. I picked her up early this morning. She is about 6 months old. I may breed her when she's older so I can get milk but I haven't decided.

Anyways I'm super excited to have her! I haven't thought of a name yet but I'm sure I will think of one. I know it is best to allow for a quarantine period but I didn't have a place to put her so I introduced her to my other goat immediately. The meeting went surprisingly well! It seemed like after a couple headbutts they were best friends! It might be because my other goat was desperate for a friend but they seem to really like each other. I'm still a bit worried to leave them alone so I brought my laptop and desk outdoors so I could be near them 😅 I might be overreacting a bit but this is all very new to me

I just ran across this thread, but I’m so happy that They have a friend. I’ve heard more than once and owning goats I know it to be true, “A lonely goat may die of a broken heart.”
I adopted a goat from a coworker after its companion passed away. He cried all day and night
And the way his eyes lit up when he saw the other goats at my place was so heartwarming to me and his previous owner
I’m glad to know they found you and you found them a companion
But be careful goats are addictive. Lol
