Hello, I have some peafowl chicks around 4 months old and I recently noticed that they have droopy wings and I’m concerned. It’s been pretty hot here recently around ~90 - 95 degrees everyday. And they have they’re mouth open and they seem to be pretty hot. So I’m wondering if maybe it because of that? Other than that they seem fine. They’ll eat and drink normally. And they’re poop seems fond for the most part except sometimes they do poop liquidy. I’ll leave some photos below.

If they were sick they would pull their heads back to the body. They are probably just hot. Why are they not running loose instead of being cooped in such tiny cages?
Ohh okay! Yea thankfully the colder weather is coming in and they’ll rest from the heat. Oh about the cage I am planning to move them out once they turn 5 months old. I have a huge coop big enough for them to run around all they want where I keep some chickens in right now but I’m afraid to keep the peafowls in with the chickens since I know peafowls shouldn’t be mixed with chickens, not for the first 4-5months at least as I don’t want them to get sick. But I plan on moving them out soon! ^^

Like so many other people you are acting on internet misinformation. Our peas go to the ground by ten to twelve weeks of age, this can be done with monthly cocci and deworming treatments. Peachicks development is retarded by the use of medicated chick starter and close confinement. They need the full spectrum of vitamins and minerals as well as plenty of room to run and fly for muscle development. As long as you are killing the cocci protozoa and worms monthly being with chickens is not a problem. My monthly protocol is to treat with Toltrazuril on the first week then deworming the second and fourth week of every month until winter. Keeping the cocci and worms in check and having high protein food and plenty of space produces healthy birds.
