My roo has frostbite on his comb

When I got my roo 2 yrs ago, he already had some black tinges on his rather large comb. We moved to the Ozarks where it is significantly colder from what we were used to. Anyway just yesterday during the day his comb started to turn even more black. I rubbed coconut oil on it at night- we can only get him while he's roosting. My coop is insulatated and safely kept a lil warmer than outside by a non hazardous coop heater. This happened during the day. Is there anything else besides locking him in the warm coop I can do? I am from a warm state, I've never dealt with these cold temps before This is the hest pic I can get of him. Will just the back piece Fall off?

Yes it will fall off, but leave it alone. Handling it just causes more pain and damage. Sorry you are dealing with this, but ... you are not alone. Make sure he does not have to stick his head inside anything to eat or drink.

Also, temperatures are not responsible for frostbite. Humidity is the culprit, moisture. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation but not drafts blowing directly on the birds. Ventilation should be above their heads. What are your temperatures?

I usually put warm petroleum jelly on my roosters, it can help take any discomfort that it might cause away. But no mater what you do, that piece of his comb is going to fall off.

Ok I will make sure there's more ventilation in the coop. I boarded up all the windows to try to keep it warmer. The temps are 10- 20°. It is 10 outside right now at 9:25 am

Yes, hands off.
Putting anything on it can make it worse and/or introduce bacteria.

It will take a couple-few months to heal up,
