My Two Guineas

I recently got a new rooster and he turned out to be a total jerk. He attacked my hand tonight when I was trying to clip his waterer back into place. I grabbed him and evicted him from his coop. My female Guinea hen normally loves roosters, he squared up and double barreled her right into the chest, she fought back and then my male Guinea was right beside her flogging the asshole. He flogged me with so much force that my hand hurt worse then ever, I was hunched over holding my hand close to my body while lightning strikes were pulsating through it. My first thought was he broke my hand…. He punctured the back of my hand and broke a couple of blood vessels.
My guineas chased him all over the lighted barnyard and into the darkness. I went inside the house and cleaned up my hand and when I went back out to the coops the guineas had tucked themselves in for the night. I have been having issues this week getting the female to go back up and not roost on top of the coop.

That rooster is not one to keep. Too dangerous to have around.

So what happened next? Did the rooster learn to behave? Are the Guineas okay? How is your hand!?

The mean rooster was found hiding in the dark, exhausted from being whooped and chased by two polka dots. Let’s just say he is no more, I’ll work through some rooster quirks but that was the final straw.

Seems to me that the Polka dots did a good job policing your yard.
