Mystery chick dumped at the shelter

Hi! This chick was literally dumped at my area shelter. Unfortunately, that means we know actually nothing about it including age, breed, or if it received proper nutrition for the first few weeks of its life that could have affected feather growth. My suspicion due to the feather pattern growing in is Cochin Frazzle. It looks like it might pan out to have a naked neck and booty. So, kind people of backyard chickens, what is your guess on the breed and if this will be a hen or roo?

Thoughts on the possibility of it being a Frazzle? And anyone have a frazzle and dealt w other related genetic health issues?

You may be spot on with the frazzle thing. I have a friend that had one and yours reminds me of that chicken, a lot. If that’s the case, just care for it like any other chicken.

I have a 6 month old rooster who is a sizzle, he cannot fly at all and his balance is a bit off but he can still walk/run around just fine (with a little bit of a hop) I do trim at the feathers around his neck when they get long enough since they point upward they cover up his vision. you might want to look into the difference between frazzle, frizzle, and sizzle, I don’t think she looks frazzled but I’m still new at this myself

While I’m not sure what happened to the poor thing I’m sure her feathers will grow back and it looks like they’ve already started to, I hope she gets better
