Our chicken (Eggar Allen Poe herself) has been sick for about 2 weeks now. She is almost 4 years old, and has not laid eggs for maybe a year now. We noticed she had a pasty butt and was lethargic, so right away we gave her a 5 day regimen of Corid, which has helped a past sick chicken of ours. It did not seem to help. She is lethargic, has a droopy tail, visibly labored breathing, and a slow waddle at times. Comb is normal, eyes and nose are clear. Her poops were pretty gummy and white, but she seems to be pooping better now (still a little runny), while the other symptoms have not really lessened. We've given her warm water baths with epsom salt and sprayed her a few times with athletes foot powder, as vent gleet is our best guess. Its just been a while with no significant improvement or decline, so we're not sure we're on the right track or if this illness has already taken an irreparable toll. She's one of only five in our flock so we really want to see her back to her old self again. Any advice is appreciated!
