Name 3 Things You Did Or Will Do Today - 2024

If the rain does not come today or at least no rain before noon.
I will check on all my chickens, do some tidy work in their coops and runs.
Spend 1:1 time with a few of my needed attention hens. So much rain lately that I did not spend time with them beside just do the necessity stuff.
Get some me time. I need to recharge after yesterday communication with aged care people.

Thank you. How else do I get to experience rolling down snow hill, defrost in front of the fireplace, shove snow, step on thick snow, make snowman and angel, see & touch falling snow like rain, see ice snow on tree branches, snow flake build up high, avoid yellow snow, taste non yellow snow...etc.?
I was thinking how do I get to shove snow being a tourist? I would need to go into the suburb, away from the big city tourist areas and ask the resident there if I may shove snow from for them. Will they say go ahead knock yourself out or nutcase on the loose?.. 😄
I do appreciate the romantic angle of snow…..when looking at it from inside a warm toasty house. And, I can also appreciate the fun side of snow BUT there is a very, very dark side to the stuff which often goes unrealized to the uninitiated. IMO:D

"Dry" snow or "Lake Effect" snow is light snow that drifts. It's easy to shovel...
"Wet" snow has more water content and is very heavy. It's the type of snow that may give a person a heart attack while shoveling...
Yes, the home owner will think your daft or you want money to clean their walk.

I have some idea about it from the news report on our tv about snow storm in America, road block, accidents, and I thought how do people get to work every day, do grocery shopping, kids go to school, does petrol in the car freeze too?
I watched some youtube videos about chickens and there are people talking about water for their chicken freeze up and what to do about it.

Here we all have 4WD vehicles and snow tires. Some people even have studs put in their tires.

Gas doesn't freeze unless there is water in it. There are additives that can be added to absorb the water.

Diesel can gel which is why they use additives to make it gel at even lower than normal temperatures. We use diesel #2 in the summer and diesel #1 in the winter.

"Number 1 diesel, with its lower wax content, flows better in cold weather, while number 2 diesel offers higher energy content for better fuel efficiency in warmer conditions."

Truckers will often let their trucks idle instead of shutting them off when the temperatures are too cold.

That is a lot of knowledge to live day to day in a snow cold winter. 4WD is a necessity. I saw big truck rollover on the side of the road from the news about snow storm in America. I imagine that it is hard to go about every day life in snow thick winter.

Here there is no need for snow to get truck rollovers. A major wind gust from the right direction will blow them over no matter what time of year it is.

I went to school early for open lab…there were too many people and I didn’t get to practice my skills.
Check engine light came on in my car.
I will watch however many hours of video I need to to prepare for classes tomorrow.
Was planning to go on a bike ride, but I have to patch my tube first, so idk.
I’m hugging a purring kitty. Been that kind of day…
