First time goat owner here.
I need advice, Please be kind, this is a very hard experience for everyone at my home!!

My 1.5 year old GSD attacked one of my bottle baby goats, she's a little over 6 weeks old. She is alive!
Dog was immediately brought to my uncles house where he will stay indefinitely, we don't tolerate that! I hate to think what could have happened.
I didn't see it happen, but I was in the room. I immediately separated them. She has a cut from her nose to between her horns. Still eating fine, not bleeding. I cleaned it. I'm worried about her though. I genuinely don't think she needs vet care, not sure what they would do anyhow, I'm more worried about her being traumatized..
I'm heartbroken over this and any advice/kind words/reassurance is very welcome. The injury is not bad, very shallow, but if people think she needs vet care I will absolutely bring her in!
I used gentle iodine and neosporin so far, and I'm keeping her inside until it heals a bit so she doesn't rub it. She's still trying to headbutt so I think I'm more worried than her.
they have never ever been alone together, I just happened to turn my back and she went under the bed where he likes to sleep. He had stolen some suet, I didn't realize, I think he only had it for a few minutes, I was bottle feeding the baby, and after I set her down she went to see what he was doing like a curious little goat. She's been around him with supervision before. It was less than 5 seconds of not paying attention and I'll never do it again. Pics to show injury and length since it's a bit hard to tell. She doesn't even seem to notice it anymore. Right now she's chewing on my shirt as I type this.
So yeah, any advice for care, I'm so shaken up over this.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that!
It sounds like you have everything well taken care of though! :hugsJudging from the pics and your description it doesn’t look too bad, she should be ok 🙂 If she’s still acting rambunctious she can’t be feeling too awful 😉
The biggest thing would be to keep it clean, which you’re already doing, since it is a from a dog. You’ll also want to make sure she doesn’t have any other wounds from him on her body, just so they don’t get infected if they’re not super noticeable. It was definitely a good call (in my opinion) to move him away for the time being at least 🙂
A few years ago I had a 6 month old (my first goat) peel away the skin all the way from her horn halfway to her eye, and pretty deep. She ended up needing stitches (hers was super deep) but she ended up being completely fine 🙂

We checked her over last night but I'll do it again in the daylight to make sure we didn't miss anything! He's definitely staying with my uncle until she's weaned and can spend her time fully outside. I'm glad to hear that goats seem to bounce back from injuries pretty well! Someone suggested vitamin B if she seems shocked but I don't think she is. She's been very cuddly since but thats not uncommon for her.

Keep in mind that dogs are predators and goats are prey. Some dogs have a much higher prey drive than others. Of the livestock attacks I am familiar with, the most common culprit was a GSD.
