So this is the 3rd incident.... that coyotes have eaten my roosters.... last night they actually flipped over my great dane size kennel i keep new chickens in before introducing them to my flock, and well.... poor thing didnt stand a chance. They got him through the bottom of the cage (it has a tray but i never leave it in.)

AHHH!!! So, i am ordering solar lights, but for tonight, (cause i KNOW theyll come back and try to get in another coop) WHAT DO I DO??!!?!?!

That will work and yeah I think the noise would wake you lol

i myself have had a coyote problem they had started killin my dogs and i had know idea what to do, this is where the week at heat should stop readin

shootin em is fine if you can ,but there are called wylie for a reason, if you should have dogs keep em upo to, take a piece of rope hang from a tree till the end is about 4 ft off the ground, attach a wire strong enough to hold the weight of a strugglin coyote or very large dog, you my be suprised on what is around ya. gettin your chickens, from the wire attach a large triple hook, the largest you could find, bait the hook and in the mourning or you will hear the hooked animal in the night you should kill em quick as they dont suffer, bait with raw meat, nothin tainted as they wont mess with it

Against my better judgement posting this here, but sounds like you need help fast.....Pop

The Recipe

Go to the feed store and get some Golden Malrin. It`s a fly bait used in stables. It is in the equine section and comes in 1 lb and 5 lb cans. Put 1/2 cup of Golden Malrin on a pie tin or styrofoam plate. On top of it place 1 tablespoon of anykind of berry preserves. Very humane. Kills within 10 ft. Put it out in several locations at night and pick up the predators in the morning. Caution, cats will not eat it as they don`t like the chemical smell. Dogs will eat it so put the dog up when The Recipe is out. Don`t get it on your hands. Works on coyotes, fox, coons, possum, etc.

thanks CW & lollipop. One of these is bound to work. they dug into one run and ate maybe 4 roosters whole, and left the rest.... one fully intact.... what the heck? i thought coyotes catch and run!??!?!

I'd shoot them...if they know the "all-you-can-eat buffet" is there, they are just going to keep coming back for more!! Thats just my opinion, someone else might have something better. And hope you get rid of them
