I have close to 100 chicks! I have 15 different rare breeds! I plan on eventually (when everyone starts laying) to sell and incubate the eggs and to sell the chicks! I am having a really hard time choosing the perfect coop for me! Me and my husband initially designed a 16x8 coop with a 4x4 hen house in the center with a 8ft roof that slants down each side to 6ft anyway we planned on having 6 3x4 caged in runs for a rooster and 2 hens with a laying box and then one 3x8 run that's connected to the hen house for the hens to run! And on the back side of the hen house we were gonna do a 4x4 "graduate wall" for chicks and make 6 separate boxes with heat lamps and the bottom 2 boxes would have a ramp down to the ground level for the older chicks to run in the day but they are able to get back in their box at night! So new chicks will go on top and after a couple weeks they move down a box and then the oldest ones go to the last stage! I'm just not sure how many this will house correctly Id like to see pictures of other coops that are made for different breed chickens to breed in! I can't find any online that are close to what I need! Maybe I'm not looking in the right places? Again I want a coop that will house a small hen house for 8-10 hens and then enough compartments for 15 breeds of chickens (1 Rooster 2-3 Hens in each) any ideas or pictures would be greatly appreciated! I need to build this week!!

I actually have looked through almost 100 pages and I haven't found one that is close to what I need! I need a coop that lets me house multiple breeds of birds (14-15 different breeds to breed 1 roo and 2-3 hens in each cage) I'm just curious to see coops capable of housing 80-100 birds that's not just a hen house and run! I hope I'm making sense lol

You should figure on a 4x6 pen for each breed. That could be accommodated with a barn or large shed about 32x20 in size. Is something that large in your budget? If not, I would suggest you reduce the number of breeds you keep to fit the size of shed you are able to afford. Keeping chicken is a rather expensive hobby, especially at the scale you are attempting.

I had the same trouble when I was trying to figure out how to build my breeder pens. Here is mine - it is a 12 x 16 ft shed. It will comfortably accommodate 30 birds as it is today. I could add another pen in the front right and alter the run on that side and get up to 45 birds or so but I am currently using that area as storage. You could get two large sheds, build smaller pens but follow my basic design to do what you are looking to do. I hope this helps!

I have since added two windows to the back pens to allow for more light.
