Nest box for a dog house coop?

Anyone got any ideas for a nest box in a dog house coop?

milk crate - can be found in the school supplies section of walmart.

You could always put nest boxes on the outside of the dog house by cutting a hole in the back or side. Build nest boxes and attach to outside. Be sure the roof of the nest box is hinged for easy egg collecting and cleaning. There are tons of pictures on here of people's coops that have done just that. As the poster before me said milk crates work great. That's what my chickens prefer. An old drawer will work also. Just get creative and see what you already have around your house. I bet you'll come up with something. Keep in mind that by putting the nest box inside your dog house it will be taking up valuable space. Attached to the outside will give added space. Good luck!

My husband built a big nesting box on the outside of our coop & we divided it down the middle so that we have 2 boxes. He lined it so that water doesn't seep into it & our chickens absolutely love it!
