I had a single Aurucana growing up that my mum rescued from a school hatching, she laid green eggs and was best friends with our guineapig. Now I am a grown up (allegedly), I have learned that neither animal should have been a loner! Now I live in the wild mountains of NC and not in the south of England I have lots of space an old shed and I have lined it and a 30 by 20 space with fence and hardware cloth, covered it with an anti bird netting and fliers that birds can see and hopefully the 12 little Skeksis in my shed will grow up happy here. They are about 6-7 weeks old. I think 2 of the Barnvelders are roosters, but we will see. They are being just so slow to feather out and they have strange whorls on their wing feathers. Roosters are allowed here and so I will keep as long as they behave ( no 3am crowing or incurable violence! ) Looking forward to my life as a new chicken cuddler!
