New Breed????????????????

I have had a look over the internet to try and find a chicken same shape and same colour pattern but have found it very hard, I bred these chickens from 2 other breeds. If anyone can find a breed that is the same please do tell me. I hope that it is something different. I breed these by accident. My family and I all think that they are very beautiful chickens. The cockerel has a green iridescance to his tail feathers. and if you look closely at the birds on the third photo in large you can see that the black spots are sort of love heart shaped or you could desribe it as buttcheeks as well. I also would like to know if anyone is interested in these birds to see wetherer I should continue to breed them.

I used an White Appenzeller cockerel and female black rocks.

Those are VERY attractive birds. I LOVE black-and-white patterns.

They looks like my spitzhauben mixes, just different colors. They won't breed true though, so they aren't considered a new breed. Just a mixed breed

I haven’t had any eggs from them yet but am expecting them soon. I would expect frequency to be similar to that of black rocks and appenzellers which is high ish.

Shame, what is considered a new breed? Would it be from a mutation in one of the genes to make it significantly different. Rather than a mixed breed like what I have.

Gorgeous birds. I know nothing about breeding so I can't answer those questions, but I'd buy those if they lay decently and are cold hardy.

Once you have made them breed true. Which means they don’t through different colors when you breed them together, you won’t have some with a crest and others without. All the chickens will have the same single comb not a rose or a walnut comb. This can take years to complete.
And if you are going for the spitzhauben look you can just make a new color of spitzhauben.

How does one make a new colour of spitzhaben? would it just be breeding it with different coloured spitzhaubens? Ill see what happens when I breed these ones together.
