Hi all,
Ever since my rooster Randy died 6 weeks ago the bullying in my flock (6 hens - 3 adults, 3 3-month olds) has been out of control. There are 2 main bullies but honestly they’ve all been bad to eachother except the smallest 2. I’ve done all kinds of arrangements - separating them, containing some within the run, etc. About a week ago I finally decided to get a new rooster. I picked up a young Easter Egger cockerel… was told he hatched 4/1 but judging by his size, feathers, sounds, etc. I think maybe it was a typo and the person meant 5/1, which would make him 7 weeks old this week. He’s a really sweet boy so far - likes to be handled and he’s keeping himself entertained by jumping around his temporary enclosure in the garage. When can I start introducing him to my flock? He’s getting restless and they are just being so vicious to one another! I’m worried if I introduce him too soon they’ll go after him. Thanks!
