Hello all
I am from Smithfield RI and am planning on getting chickens as soon as the weather breaks.
I bought a house in the country a little over a year ago.
The previous owners raised pigeons and doves,so there are 4 buildings I can use for chickens.
I have redone 3 of them in the last year. I put on new roofs, windows, doors and paint
I jacked them up and re supported them with pressure treated lumber and put stone around the bottom to resemble a stone foundation.
I have one building left to do in the spring that is 10X40.
Anyway...This will be my first attempt at chickens and am glad this sight exists.
The more I read the more I feel like I have a realistic approach.
I am going to start to pick up the things I need now so that I will be ready in the spring.
Once I get started I will be asking a ton of questions, but for now I am just grateful for this sight and am reading as many posts as I can.
