Hi, one of my chickens recently started laying about a week or so ago and she has been laying soft shell eggs. She lays maybe one or two normal eggs and then lays soft shell eggs, a normal egg and then back to soft shell. She laid a soft shell egg today. Yesterday she laid a hard shell egg but the shell was weird looking, kind of warped a bit. I have oyster shell and layer feed in for them eat. I read online that it is normal the first couple weeks but just was wondering if anyone had experience with this.

Yes, just as you read, it's normal.
Ok great, she did have a bout with an illness a few months ago but I treated with Tiagard and she is good now and with the flock. I also read that respiratory issues can cause egg laying problems. She hasn’t had any more symptoms of the illness since I treated and quarantined her 3 months ago, none of my other hens got sick either. When she was sick her symptoms were runny eyes, kind of looked like spit coming out of her eyes, slight nasal discharge, and a bit lethargic. Now she is as normal as my other hens.
