1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

We got 8 chicks in July 2023 from tractor supply. All alive and well one year later with gorgeous backyard coop and lots of love. Getting 7 eggs a day regularly. They were sold to us as bantams from TSC.
We now believe they are Welsummers. Huge and happy. Definitely not bantams.
No vets involved. Literally no problems.
Decided to expand our flock.
Added 12 chicks in July of 2024
And they are now 5 weeks old.
Separated in their own coop within the coop. They have been growing and happy.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
19.
7 left from 2023.
12 1 month olds.
We lost one of the year old welsummers last week. She might have been the non layer. No idea why. No bullies. No pornlems. Just dead outside the coop but in the run with all the girls looking over her.
(3) What breeds do you have?
