Hey y'all! My name is Tessa. I am joining BackYard Chickens to learn a bit more about chickens.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am fairly new to chickens, I have had mine since June last year.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I got two hens from a neighbour who said they are a year old but they looked older than that. So one of them died and I ended up getting a 6 month old rooster named Clyde. He was very polite with the hen I had left, who I named Chandler. In March I got two 7 month old hens, Luella and Francine. So now I have a total of 3 hens and the rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have?
The hens are Babcocks and I am not sure about Clyde.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the fact that they have their own personalities and are really cute and cool animals to watch and learn about.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to hike and read and watch old movies.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have two cats Damien and Mister and they enjoy the garden outside with me.
