That's a good way to put it, Tonya. I'll remember these words of wisdom.Hello Mia, and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
Mutt chickens express dominant genes.
Welcome to BYC! A great place!Howdy BYC community! Here are a few things about myself.
I've been working with chickens for as long as I can remember. I inherited the nickname 'The Chicken Whisperer' because of this.
I joined BYC to get advice for my flock as well as give some to those I can help!
I have a flock of about 20 chickens. Most of them were hatched from home!
My most unique chicken is Snowball. She was found unsexed in a container of Buff Orpingtons. She was born without an eye although she was the only survivor of the other chicks i got. She's about five years old and still going strong!
This is where I need some insight. Since I hatch all my own chicks from home now, I use eggs laid by my flock. One of the chicks I've hatched recently is completely black and has a cushion comb. None of my chickens have either of those traits so I'm wondering... If I got her egg from my nesting box, then where did she come from?
