I am new to raising chickens, although my son has kept them in the past. I don’t have any chickens currently, but am just starting to build a coop. I am raising chickens for the eggs. My other hobbies include Search and Rescue, rebuilding old Hot Rods, running, playing guitar, remodeling projects and a few others.

I am retired, have two boys and two grand children. I don’t have any pets, but my son has 4 dogs ( two are Search and Rescue ) and a cat.

I found BYC with an internet search and was blown away by the extensive information here!

Welcome I’m a newbie as well. My 9 fantastic chicks are five weeks old. I got mine for layers. I have three Swedish Flower Hen, three Creme Legbars, and three Black/lavender Orpingtons. Gotta keep things interesting and boy have they been interesting. My research has been done rather extensively on certain things but there is always more to learn on here. Everyone is very helpful. Lots more than chicken talk on here that’s worthwhile. Welcome good luck and take care!
