New member from Central Kansas.
Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, new to chickens, farm-sat for a coworker and fell in love with his small flock of birds. Now we're in a place where we can have a few of our own soon.
How many chickens do you have right now?
We do not currently have any but will be getting some this spring, probably 6.
What breeds do you have?
Undecided as of right now.
What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I enjoyed watching my coworker's birds' antics. They weren't the most people friendly, so I am hoping to develop good relationships with my future birds.
What are some of your other hobbies?
Baking (sourdough), Tunisian crochet, walking, birding, tree/plant identification, gardening.
Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have a farm cat and a dog. Dog has been tested with chickens and does not mind them at all (but will be watched if chickens are out)!
