(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our first year of chickens, first batch in June and added another 8 in August in hopes to have more pullets since the first 7 were 5 cockerels and only 2 hens
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
11, but the rooster will be going since we have no need for him for the ladies!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Black sex link (laying), Olive egger(laying), and 8 RIR(not laying but hoping all are pullets)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Definitely the learning process and then the waiting game on that first egg!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, crocheting, cooking/baking, house projects of all kinds!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a SAHM mom to 4 girls, we also have 2 cats and a border collie!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Just a google search! I've been browsing the forums for a while but with not a lot of community to reach out to and ask questions I decided to finally make a post!
