My name is Lynn and my husband, Jack, and I live in West Texas. We are new to chickens. Right now, we are in the building stage. We bought an Omelet coop and with the help of our friend, we are working on a big chicken run. We ordered the 12ft run for the Omelet but it was not tall enough for my 6 ft husband so we are building a 8 ft X 10 ft X 7.5 ft tall. It should be more than tall enough for my husband. We plan on getting 3 barred rocks, 3 road island reds and two Jersey giants. We would like to start with pullets. We are excited to get our flock started.
We are both retired and stay busy doing projects. Last fall we bought a 8 X 10 greenhouse kit and put it together. Looking forward to getting start growing fresh vegetables. Our kids are all grown and on their own but we do have three four legged kids that are spoiled rotten.
