Hello! I’m a newish chicken mamma. I have a flock of 12.
I noticed my lavender Orpington pullet (about 4 months old), Chickira, looked different yesterday. Her ears were swollen, and she had a swollen lump near her eye on one side. She was eating and drinking just fine, but I went ahead and started her on Tylan50, .5 cc injections. I gave her one yesterday and one today in her breast. And plan on doing another tomorrow. *this was based on the feed store clerk’s advice.
I haven’t seen any changes today, although her poop is very runny. (It wasn’t yesterday) I’m just second guessing myself right now.
Is there anything else I should be doing for her? I leave for an out-of-town conference on Monday, and I can’t stand the thought of my chicken sitter having to deal with this. He doesn’t know Chickira very well, and I just want her to feel better.
Pics attached to show her little swollen face.
Thanks in advance!
