Hi! I actually responded to a thread before I made this because I didn't realize that you could introduce yourself! This is so cool, one of the best websites ever! I am actually going to use the template @Nifty-Chicken made with some extra information.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? (How did you get chicks?)
Ok so the story of how I got my little ones is a bit funny. Last year for Easter my Grandma wanted to buy all the grandchildren chickens because she thought it would be hilarious. But with all my schooling and some of the grandkids weren't old enough or responsible enough we didn't get them. So this year my cousins and siblings grew up and are more mature and responsible so we got chickens. April 24 we got 10 day old chicks!
2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 10 chickens to start off with. This is my first flock and they seem to be doing great!
3) What type of breeds do you have?
All 10 of my chickens are Barred Plymouth Rocks.
4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Well, when we were making the chicken coop and researching for ideas and how to take care of chickens we came across this amazing page. Its the best page we found for any types of information and you can help others.
5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I have 2 dogs, one of which likes the chickens ALOT. I am also a movie/theatre nerd but I mostly sit in a dimly lit room and read a great book.
6) Tell us about your family, pets, and anything else.
My family is huge, mostly because a lot of my family got divorced and remarried. Even though its huge the sides of the family stick together and are really close. I have 2 dogs along with the chickens. My male dog, Hunter, is mother hen while my other dog, Star, is more of a hunting dog. I am a really good writer and I am hoping to become a Pediatrician once I start my track onto college.
Thanks for reading this! Its super long, I don't know why anyone would actually read that lol. I look forward to meeting everyone on BYC and learning a bunch of stuff about chickens I didn't know (Theres ALOT I don't know!).
Heres a picture of my chicks:
