We put some hardware cloth on the bottom, keep critters out. Have a heat lamp in the back, plenty of food and water. The manufacturer says the Cuba hold 5 to 7 chickens full grown but that looks a little tight .I was thinking four, but ended up with six anyway. I’ll be building a portable chicken run about 10 x 12 made of PVC pipe, covered and hardware cloth, with water on the side. That way I can drag it around the backyard while I’m at work and not have to worry about predators eating my chickens. Love to hear your thoughts i’ll be building a portable chicken run about 10 x 12 made of PVC pipe, covered in hardware cloth, with water on the side. All the best,

:frow Mr. Moby! Welcome to BYC!

Nice enough coop for a starter but yes sir i really like the idea of an extra run to let em get more space when they cant be out and about. I agree that its not very spacious but with the run your planning im sure itll be enough. Im unsure of the hardware cloth on the entire bottom. The birds scratch contantly which isnt comfortable on wire and you'll Need to provide a dust bath area with dirt. With a good dust bath though itll keep em safe, happy and healthy. Best of luck Mr Moby!
