Hey everyone, I'm Dan, a 27 year old British army veteran now married to my darling wife Torri and settled with 2 kids and one on the way in rural East Tennessee. We recently moved to what we hope to be our forever home on half an acre with land next to us we hope to acquire in the near future also. We just got our first coop/run and brooder set up and are looking at getting some blue or black australorps, ameraucanas or olive eggers. Maybe even the Asia blacks which I see are a bit of a topic for debate. Ultimately I would like to breed langshans and maybe raise red or freedom rangers for meat. As a pair of novices we hope to use this resource to learn and grow as poultry keepers and will be open to advice and suggestions.
Australorps are a great bird to start with. I quite enjoyed the ones I've had.
