New chicken parent here 🙋🏻‍♀️ I have three chicks that are 3-5 weeks old and now that they are eating more and getting bigger I’m noticing the differences in poops. I’m not 100% sure if they are coming from one chick or not, but if it’s cause for concern I’ll watch them until I figure out who it is. They seem very watery to me. Both of these poops were on top of the heating plate. We gave them worms for the first time last night, and the red poop is from this morning. They eat Purina Start & Grow medicated crumbles and have a small amount of grit. None of them appear sick. Thank you for the input!

Make sure they get the chick sized grit while they get worms and food other than chick feed. The first picture shows a cecal poop. Because of the second picture I would be tempted to start some Corid in case of early coccidiosis. Dosage of Corid liquid is 1/2 tsp per quart, or 2 tsp per gallon of water for 5-7 days. If still having those reddish poops or any are lehtargic, puffed up, or not eating, you can then reduce the Corid to 1/4 dose and treat for another 5 days.

Can you put 1/2 tsp per quart even if it’s just for 1 chick? Or do you have to put a specific amount?
