My hens are about one year old. They have been laying eggs like gang busters all through our frigid winter. I get about 10-12 a day from 14 hens.
For the past 5 days, I have only 4 eggs.
They are not free ranging currently because of snow on the ground, so they are not laying elsewhere.

What could be going on?
On outward appearance, their looks and behaviors are normal. Is there anything I need to check them for?

Thanks ahead.

Hens normal take a break on the winter months. Since yours are a year old they could be just getting to their first molt, which will slow and often stop them from laying because they need all their energy/nutrition for that.
