I've always hatched at home and things always go fine with this incubator. This time I'm doing a classroom hatch so my incubator is at school. I can't access it on weekends. Both weekends so far the humidity got down to 22% by Monday morning.

We are on day 14, Day 21 is Monday the 21st. Someone should be able to check on the incubators (in 3 classes) this weekend. In mine both channels will be full since we'll be on lockdown so hopefully that will help.

My main question is will the very low humidity on both of the past weekends cause any problems? These days would have been day 5/6 and days 12/13. Is there anything I should watch for?

Other than that everything has gone fine, it's stressful not having the incubator at home though!!

A lot of peeps do dry incubation and seem to be fine. I would be worried about day 20 though. It's good you have someone to check for you. IF they have already started hatching Do you still want them to add water? Just to be safe make sure they can read the hygrometer and give them a # of when you want water added.

Thanks I will make sure the person who can check them understands. We have different incubators so that might be part of the issue. Day 20 is really worrying me and I would have preferred a mid-week hatch but then we have to think what if they hatch late which happened last year. I was not part of it last year since only 1 class hatched. It's all about the timing and when this could be done and spring break.

I've now learned that it must be going low right at the very end of the weekend so that's not so bad. We're making a plan for this coming weekend now.

are they LF or bantams? Is it possible for you to take them home ?
Some of each bantam/LF. Set around noon on the 31st so maybe they won't start until Sunday late. I thought about taking the incubator home on weekends but it didn't seem safe with the jostling around and being unplugged. I think we have a plan now I was just getting into a panic about it. The reminder about some doing dry hatch reassures me that the lows on the two weekends probably didn't affect things. I was just having a minor (major!) panic moment about it.

Thankfully they only have to live at school until the Friday after hatch. Then we will all bring our peeps home to our flocks for spring break :). I'm very glad we can give the students this experience it just took my our of my comfort zone.
