Nurture Right 360 is trash

I cannot believe how bad the Nurture Right 360 is. I have had two excellent batches with my basic little Vivohome incubators. They fluctuate a lot and the electronics are not accurate, but it’s so easy to change the temperature (if you have the time to babysit.) I did not expect to see the same fluctuations and inaccurate electronics in a machine that costs 2-3 times as much. And anytime you want to change the temp the machine literally screams at you. It’s an awful, and completely not necessary sound for something you have to do just as often as you do with a cheaper unit. I’m venting because I’m so frustrated right now. I cannot keep a consistent temperature in this thing at all. It either swings wildly high or wildly low. One time reading 38.4 the next reading 36.5 on the same setting. That’s a huge shift. I am so glad I only borrowed and didn’t buy this thing. It’s AWFUL

I’ve used one a few years now it stays pretty consistent. I’m guessing your also using calibrated thermometers and all and not going off the digital read out on the machine. The only time I have major fluctuations with mine is when we have crazy weather and it goes from 80 degrees down to the thirties overnight. I’ve found that with this unit doubling over a beach towel and covering it in cooler weather helps keep a more constant temp.

I use calibrated thermometers inside all the machines. My little Vivohome machines might go up or down a few tenths of a degree Celsius over the course of a few hours, but never whole degrees so suddenly. (All my thermometers are Celsius) These eggs have likely been everywhere from 97-101 f the majority of the time they’ve been in here and almost never holding at 99.5. I’m having nightmares about this hatch going wrong already. I was just really excited to try this unit and I remember a few years ago when they were impossible to get a hold of. I thought demand equaled quality. 🤦🏻‍♀️

You have to remember to that just because the machine degree changes doesn’t necessarily mean the egg temp changes. The eggs will hold heat and they even make heat from the chick forming so a lot of times the eggs aren’t impacted by that fluctuation. Take a thick towel and double it over and cover the incubator and see if that helps the temp stay more stable. My incubators are in a garage but on cooler days the temp will fall some or rise some.

That is a good and comforting point about the egg temp. And I suppose it also matters that this thermometer is constantly changing positions inside the unit since I have it in one of the egg slots where the other thermometers in my smaller units are stationary. I will try to calm down and hope for the best. But I would never spent the money on this. I’ll keep buying my cranky $65 little units that give me 100% hatch rates instead lol.

So surprised. I usually get 80%+ hatch rates with the 360. I found it very user friendly. It does run about a degree cold, so I bump it to 100.5, and have had no issues. I also rotate my eggs from inside ring to outside ring every couple of days so they get exposed to all areas of the incubator.

I just had a 100% hatch rate from my two Vivohome incubators. So 80% by comparison is not good. 😒

Are you making sure the top is secured in place? It is kinda wonky, but once I figured that out, I had nothing but good to say. There can always be bad ones though. Those little notches have to line up perfectly and it actually seats into place. My wife opened ours once and didn’t get it just right and we were experiencing the same issues until I realized what had happened.

Yup it’s on with the little notches lined up! It just sucks lol. 36.8 just now when I checked it. It was 37.9 an hour ago. I have nothing good to say about this thing, big mistake, huge lol

I think their quality has gone done in the past year or so. I used to love Nurture Right 360s. I have four, two bought a few years back and two bought last spring. The ones I bought last spring I was having the same issues with. I pulled them out this spring to see how they did and after a trial run I ended up putting them in the dumpster. I went out and bought a Brinsea and I love it. I pre-calibrate my thermometer and hygrometer before every egg placement and my Brinsea maintains temp and humidity very very well.
