Official BYC Article Writing Contest - #23
Ends June 26th, 2025

Short Version:
Write a great article and you could win a great prize & have your article featured on the homepage of BYC!

Detailed Version:
We are constantly amazed at how knowledgeable and helpful our community members are! The BYC forum provides a wonderful opportunity for members to post questions and reply with answers. Unfortunately, a lot of really amazing information can get lost in the super activity on the forum.

Over the years we’ve received a ton of requests to add more articles & FAQs to our Learning Center. Our BYC Coop Page Contests have been super successful and now we have over 3000 chicken coop articles in our Chicken Coops section! Hopefully, we can have similar success with this BYC Article Contest!!

This contest is not for coop articles. If you have a coop article, please enter the coop article contest here.

Suggested reading:
Prizes - TBD

How To Enter:

  1. Pick a poultry-related topic. We suggest writing an article that is not already covered in our Learning Center, but is a topic that would be a good addition to one of the sections in the Learning Center.
  2. Create an article 1736465044321.png
    1. See here for the article/member page/coop page writing tutorial.

Just want to verify then...I can't resubmit the article I'd entered in the last contest that was withdrawn due to the public domain photos in it? Thanks!
Yes, though we need to iron out the new rules. Can you help us do that?

Showing chickens

Question on picture attribution--what if you are using screenshots from social media posts with identifying information blacked out? I'm writing about how to use local resources and social media to find nearby poultry.
