OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Surviving the heat despite its efforts to kill me! Hope your gout improves quickly!
Thank you...I've noticed that I've been getting gout almost every other month now, and it normally last between 5 and 8 days. They told me to cut down on my red meat intake and drinking liquor. Waiting on my second opinion...

Something in cherries is supposed to help, also blueberry. I try to make sure my husband eats them 3/4 days a week. Though we have red meat 1-2 times a week, PTL he hasn't had a flare-up in several years.

Thank you for the recommendation! We just bought a 3 lbs bag of sweet cherries from Marc's...and my blueberry bush has a few berries on it, but isn't ready for harvest. I've got meds for the gout, but it takes a few days to help out.

My husband has some for anti-inflammatory but as it is so painful, I began to research over a decade ago. We still drink liquor/beer but usually 3 days a week. Rarely bacon, ugh the price helps to stay away.

When cherries are out of season, I will buy a large bag (3#) of frozen from Kroger and dole out 1/2+ cup 3-4 x a week. We're trying to prevent it as when it is your foot that's down, hard to do much. Hopefully it will subside soon.
We are in the southern part of Ohio.

The first time I experienced gout, I rushed to the ER asking for x-rays to be taken on my toe; I had thought I broke a bone. My experience is, I take the anti-inflammatory pills with 3 ibuprofens and wash it down with 3 beers. Works wonders with the pain..hehe
