OKAY- this one isnt super important, but i thought id ask or tell.

My rhode island red hen, Anita, is about 15 years old. But she still looks fairly young! i noticed something weird about her though, since she hasnt laid eggs in a long time she also hasnt been wanting to mate with out rooster, and has kinda been acting like a rooster to the low level pecking order hens.

She makes the food noise for the other hens and cleans them all the time, but she weirdly grew in now neck feasthers that look pointy! Her real neck feathers are round, but she grew a pattern that looks pointy on them. Does that happen when they get old?

15 is simply crazy! My oldest is only 5! She was my first bird.

Not if you care for them right. A chicken's normal life span is about teen years, only most are killed before their first birthday because they aren't 'useful' to their human anymore.

This case is interesting though.

My oldest is an 8-year-old heavy weight Delaware roo. He was rehomed to me because of his "aggression" issues.
Who thinks roos cant change?
