Omg chickens float!

We went away over night and one of the chickens chose that as the day you jump into the horse trough.
Found her floating today. We already had some chicken tragedies so this was devastating but I pulled her out and she was still alive!
She couldn't stand and seemed to hiccup. I did a quick search and it seemed there wasn't much to do to help her.
In happy to report after two hours of rest she's back to walking around and she's even eating those freeze died fly larva treats !

I can't believe she didn't drown. I had no idea chickens can float

They oil the feather's when they preen themselves. There is an oil gland just before you get to the tail that they use to do that with. That help's to keep them water proof.
