I live in a tropical island so usually my eggs start hatching around day 19, today I saw nothing not even a pip, so I waited all day until it was night I cracked one egg. I started my making a little hole on the air pocket and then I opened the egg, I used some water to moist the membrane to see the chick, and I did see them but I also saw the yolk as big as can be, so a immediately ran and got a bandaid and covered the hole. Was that a good idea? I don’t want the chick to die, I’m super young and I just started incubating

Keep the egg warm and moist (back into the incubator), just give him time and let him hatch himself. Hopefully a couple days won’t make a big difference, a younger egg might begin growing bacteria but a near term chick will hopefully hatch before it is an issue.

Should I take out the bandaid?

Yep! The egg was in the incubator when I posted this, I’ll take out the bandaid right now, should there be any concerns with shrink wrapping?

This is how the egg looks like, the black outline is where I saw yolk
