My little sebright (1y) suddenly couldn't walk anymore when I found her in the morning 2 days ago.. I first thought she was eggbound, gave her a bath, calcium etc

nothing helped so we went to a vet for chickens who did an xray. Nothing out of order, nothing broken so the vet said it's neurological. We can't exclude marek since she wasn't vaccinated against it but she seems very well other that she can't walk.
She has a big appetite and her poops are normal. I've given her vitamins and tuna to help her. The vet said if she can't walk again in a few days she will probably never walk again...

Does anyone here have any experience with sudden paralysis? If so please tell me about it. I'm grateful for ANY advice

I had one a paralyzed hen before, hers seemed similar to Mereks though.
But what worked for me (she does have a limp now though) was apple cider vinegar, force feeding her egg yolk through a dropper if she’s not eating and hypericum, both drops and the dissolvable tablets

Mareks can be common in sebrights, as in silkies. I really hope it is not that, but an injury or a riboflavin (b2) deficiency. I would give 1/4-1/2 tablet daily of human b or super b complex. You can crush it into a spoonful of water or a bit of food. A chicken sling might be good to place her in to keep her cleaner and to feed her. Here is a link about chicken alings, especially in post 5, 11, and 12:

Thank you so much. This is really helpful!

Hello! Give her b complex from Walmart or target or your local pharmacy. What are you feeding them? Where is she in the pecking order?
I'm already giving her that, she gets a very good quality feed, lots of treats and fresh veggies. She's not very low in the order even though she's so small.

Any updates?

I'm having an issue with my silkie who is now having trouble walking. I have been giving her a b complex for about 5 days now, but not much change in her walking.
Sadly my hen died, I think she had a stroke after she got a bit better...

I trained her legs every day a few times, and started to walk a little again, so all I can advise you is to train her leg muscles, massage them and practice walking.
The vitamin complex is pretty much all you can do other than that.

I'd also check her poop for worms or parasites at the vet.

I really hope your hen recovers...
