Found this in an egg this morning, within the egg white. It is not round. It has a flat head. Obviously not normal, and have not seen anything like this before. My questions that I am hoping you all can answer:
1-what type of worm or fluke is this?
2-can this or its eggs be transferred to humans with consumption?
3-how to treat my flock of 15 chickens? (I am leaning towards something other than ACV and or DE)
PS no farm vet in my area.
Thank you in advance for any type of light you can shed on this for me!! :)

Looks like a lash egg. I’ve never heard of one inside an egg so this is a first. Lash eggs are usually a sign of infection so the hen that laid it may need a vet.
I’m no expert by any means, and you may be right?? But the egg was completely normal looking, full yellow yolk, hard shell, clearish white yet this thing within it and nothing else looked abnormal! Thanks for your reply!

That does not look like a worm to me, but to answer your question, worms cannot be transmitted from chickens to humans. It also does not look like lash material to me. It looks like an egg "tail", although I do not know how common it is to have it inside the egg (rather than on the outside, as pictured below *not my photo - found on web*) :

Very interesting. Never heard of that in all my years. It does look similar in shape. Will do alittle deep dive into that too! Thanks for the info!
