So my husband got me 2 India Blues for my birthday. I've always wanted some. Pretty sure we have a male and think the other is female but am waiting a bit to verify.

However, these two guys will be my pets. I feel like they need regal names. Anyone care to share names of your peafowl??

Males are Sapphire, Emerald and Bubba. Females are Nutmeg and Cinnamon. Hubby named Bubba, he was our only surviving peachick and is now 2 years old. our others are 3 years old. Bubba has odd colored feathers. When they grow the new trains, I will try to get a pic. I like Keeka and Nova.

Well I'm not real original....my names just come by way of the bird....like my first peachicks were a failure as they all died but one. I knew nothing about blaackhead, etc. I was certain the one survivor would surely die too, she was obviously sick but a good friend got me the necessary metronidazole and he said to give it with a little sugar as it tastes horrible. The peahe became my Sugar Pea. After her I got a male just going on 3 yrs. So I got him in Nov and of course, never experienced a molt season. He is my PRetty Boy, my most wild=to the most tame peafowl I have to this day. One summer I bought only two peachicks but on day 1 one of them got away. Loose and into the thick woods. I never recovered it. So raising one by herself, she longed to be with the others...she was named Baby. Last February I aquired my adult solid white male. His name was most difficult bc I could not, COULD NOT think of a masculine name fitting for such a bright white peacock. NO Crystal, Star, NO. He ended up being called Sailor Joe. My pied adult male, my husband thought I was calling him Pi....I said no he's pied in color. Well hubby named him Pi, like Si as in Si Robinson. Lastly i got a pied hen for Pi. But she needed something fancy or so I thought. Taisha, Tah-eeh-sha was my first choice and I was rationalizing that name with ...well, bc she was a fancy girl Not only was she pied but she was split to white with WE. HER NAME IMMEDIATELY BECAME FANCY GIRL. I think I have a tendency to choose 2-word names.
