Hi everyone,
I have a Pekin duck egg that has started to wiggle a little on day 20—I noticed it this evening. Tomorrow, it will officially be day 21. It's due to hatch on Saturday the 22nd.
I guess my incubator has been running a bit hot. I’ve been monitoring it using three calibrated thermometers, but since it’s a still-air Covatutto controlled by a bulb, I suspect certain spots have been hotter (I have been moving the egg around consistently)...
I’ve had successful hatches with this incubator in the past, but today’s early wiggle took me by surprise!
Question: Should I put the egg into lockdown?
The egg was posted and it started with a dipped/slightly detached air cell that slopes down on one side. The air cell hasn't noticeably dropped down yet and there appears to be a little more space for the duckling to fill in the egg. I'm a bit stuck on what to do...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!
