Pekin / mallard mixes

I had a Pekin and mallard who were sadly killed back in October. The mallard was my baby and I devastated so I took her last 6 eggs and incubated them and luckily got them to hatch They are so interesting looking and I’m curious if anyone has had any Pekin mallard mixes and could tell me what they may look like or if they can fly. My mallard was a large one and couldn’t fly really. I’ll post pics. First two are pics of mom and dad (sunny and Jude) and the last 5 are pics of the babies.

your hen was a rouen the babies won’t fly

You can expect them to be black with a bib, similar to a black Swedish. Size will most likely be between parents, and no, I would not expect them to fly.

I always thought she was a Rouen! But tractor supply said mallard so But yea she didn’t fly and was much friendlier than my other mallard. I started with two mallards and the one flew away- go figure.

bigger one is definitely a rouen, i have a rouen girl
