I am in the process of building a chicken coop, and I am trying to figure out my color scheme. I was wanting to go with a bright blue with white trim, but when I went to the hardware store, I saw a bright, lighter colored purple that I fell in love with! I don't want the coop to be an eye sore, and now I'm confused on what color I should go with. Does anyone have any pictures of brightly colored or colorful coops so I can get a better idea of what i am looking at? My coop will be looking along the lines of this picture, but I love the purple color. Ideas? Pictures?

I went to the Henry Ford school of coops, and he said in the same way cars are meant to be black, coops are barns, and barns are meant to be red and white!

But I think blue or purple could look very nice too! There are tons of really cool coops on BYC, so browse the coop section and get some great ideas!

I don't know that our will help with your color scheme but it is bright.

In all seriousness there are a lot of things you can do with a light purple. A tan trim will make your purple seem more mellow. A bright white will really make it pop.

Depending on the purple there really is a lot you can do... I don't know if my purple was at all close to what you have....

Thanks! I am thinking I will go with the purple. If all else fails, I can just paint over it. I'll have to post a picture once it's built and painted
