Thanks all. : ) I let my Sebbie and Roman x Sebbie mix Geese out this a.m. to meet all their new buddies. The Geese had a honking war, and wing flapping war. After that they tryed to fly away... ; ) It was the first time my 6 new Geese met my pair of Buffs. I might be picking up another pair of Buffs Sunday, finger's and toes crossed!!

Hugs and Hissing to you all!!

Next comes the neck stretching...

Pretty two y/o, blue-eyed Roman Goose (she is the mother of the 4 Sebbie x Roman goslings).

th

Then comes the noses in the air, the other geese being to lowly to even glance at...

My one pure White Sebastapol gosling (who, I'm told has some wing issues..AW?) I think she/he is just as gorgeous as can be, so even if she can't be bred she'll make a fine pet and egg layer..not to mention eye candy!! *drools*

Here comes the wing flappin'...you should have heard all the honking that was going on during this time!

One of the Sebbie x Roman goslings went up to my Buff pair and spread his wings out and aproached them...its seemed very agressive behavior, like he was trying to show them who is Boss. Thinking Gander on him, and then my smallest gosling I'm thinking Goose, as the above boy kept trying to mount her in the kiddie pool. Hmmm...your thoughts?

Pictures of the 'gander' mounting the smallest goose...is that what he is doing??

The Geese telling the ducks to waddle off! This is our pool!

Hope you enjoyed

I love it all, you set up is awesome more pics of it all and looks like a lot of bluff to me. lolbut I think you may need more pools or your going to have to sell tickets.

Miss Lydia, I think you are right! 30 ducks, and 8 geese trying to 'share' a small kiddie pool just isn't working! Next time we go to TSC or Gebo's, I'm going to look at their big black plastic tubs and see if I can't get a couple of deep ones, and use the kiddle pool just for the Calls and ducklings! Hehe

Aww, thanks! My building is actually an old refridgerated unit. It cost me around $5,000.00 for the trailer/unit/building. Then all the runs are made out of old cotton trailer sides. We have 12-13 inside pens that are up off the ground, like hutches. 7 of them are smaller, for my Bantams, and then 2 pens are 6 ft long (both together make a 12 ft pen), then three 4ft x 4ft pens. It's still not finished. This project has been going on for the past 1 1/2 years. It's awesome having actually pens to put birds in, instead of having to throw something together that just plain stinks!

I am loving my waterfowl, and I think at some point I'll sell my Olive Eggers, Basques,Sussex and perhaps my D'anvers and just do Seramas, Splash/Lavender Cochins are waterfowl. : )

I've spent sooo much time outside today just watching the geese and ducks play in the pool and flap their wings, it's so peaceful and wonderful! It's such a lovely sight to behold!

Plus, the waterfowl can take the heat alot better than the chickens/guineas/quail/and peafowl, so that is a big plus as well! And their eggs are bigger and richer!! ; )

Lydia, since you have Muscovies maybe you can help me out. Do you have any Lavender Muscovies? I'll be picking up 4 lav ducklings tomarrow and would like to see what they look like. My friend said the ducklings are about 3 wks old.

I will certainly try. I was going to get 4 Lav scovy ducklings from him, and swap him 4 guinea keets. But he called back and said he didn't want them after all so I had to say I could only take the two ducklings. Sadly, couldn't afford 4. Although I would love to have them!

Oh my goodness...I think I am going to hunt down the current honor and snatch them away in the night. Nobody'll miss'em, right? ; ) While I'm at it, I think I'll also grab the Sebbie!!

Thanks, I'll try and find some pictures of my inside pens. : )

By the by found my 1st DUCK EGG today!! WooHoo!! It's green, is there a certain color different breeds lay? The possible females could be: Rouen (she is the oldest, got her in March), a Khaki Campbell, a Black Runner mix, Pekin Mix, or three Magpies. It's green. It seems I remember my magpie eggs being green, and seems like the Rouen and Runners lay a green egg, yes? Oh, also have Buff Orpingtons, but they and pretty sure the Magpie lay white eggs so I doubt it was them. Plus they are younger. Hoping to find some.

I almost stepped on it. I was talking on the phone, and trying to herd the Geese into their encloser and I happened to look down and see something green and round..OMG an EGG! Yeah!! It was in a small hole with grass over the top. Talk about camof
