I was wondering if it is safe to use pine nugget mulch from lowes in my deep litter in the run. Also is the cypress mulch from lowes safe?

So lowe’s pine/cypress nuggets are ok? They do not need to air for a bit out of the bag or can I just dump it in their run right away?Pine bark nuggets are fine and I've known people that have used cypress also, so you should be fine with both. Are you planning on adding other stuff to the DL... leaves, yard waste, straw...
I di have grass weeds a few twigs and leaves so need some bigger pieces. The stuff at lowes look like the perfect size for me. But wanted to get opinions before we got some and it was toxic or something. My run floor consists of various sizes of pine nugget mulch on dirt and so far it’s the best I’ve found for my situation (I do not do DLM). The only complaint I have is that the big pieces tend to float when it rains and accumulate right in front of the door. But when it’s dry it’s easy to rake back “home”!

Thank youYes, they are fine to use. No, it does not need to air out like wood chipping mulch, you could put it in your run when you get it.
Hi, I just started with chickens and I use pine bark nuggets in the run. Where do you get them in the off-season though?
